Meet Our Staff - Austin Subaru's Family of Employees
Daniel Allen
Service Technician

Hire Date 4/19/2010 Daniel Allen was born in San Antonio and moved to Austin in 2002. Daniel’s dream car is a amphibious, mechanical, life-size Godzilla. In his spare time, Daniel loves to drink bourbon. His favorite movie is “The Lion in the Winter” and his favorite food are nachos! Daniel has two pet dogs who are his best friends, Clancey and Floyd. The happiest time of Daniel’s life was when he was filling out this questionnaire! Most people say growing up in San Antonio is boring, but according to Daniel most people don’t know any fun ways to get in trouble! According to Daniel, one day he was walking in the woods and was suddenly shot with a tranquilizer dart. Everything went black and when he woke up he was wearing a Subaru uniform!
Brent Baker
General Manager

Hire Date 10/12/2009 Brent moved to Austin in 2000 from Amarillo, Texas. He says Amarillo was a great place to grow up, featuring wonderful people and beautiful landscape (as long as you like flat dirt and high winds). He grew up in the car business, which his family was involved in since he was a youngster. He has had many different jobs in a dealership at one time or another, from lot porter to dealer principal. The jury is still out as to whether he has mastered any of them! He is married to Andrea (married up into the trifecta of brains, beauty, and a great personality!), and their home is usually one step away from an asylum with the help of their three teenagers Evan, Caitlyn, and Julian along with their two boston terriers Melvin and Matilda. When not helping out the wonderful clientele of Austin Subaru, you will probably find Brent at the lake with the family or searching in the woods for his ball around one of the area golf courses.
Joel Borrego
Service Technician

Hire Date 8/11/1986
Joel Borrego was born in Edinburg, Texas and moved to Austin in 1984. Joel’s dream car is the 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS-396. Mr. Borrego’s family consists of six big brothers, two sisters, his mother, and three daughters. He has twin daughters who live in Round Rock and one daughter who lives in McAllen, Texas. Joel has three grandkids! The happiest time of his life is when he received those twin girls. If Joel could visit anywhere in the world, it would be Australia and Africa. Joel’s first job was at a full service gas station, he would pump gas. He got this job from his brother. Edinburg was a fun place to grow up according to Joel, but very country. Joel decided to work for Subaru because he used to sell gas to First Texas Honda from the gas station he worked at. He also loves cars, so it’s a natural fit! Joel is very proud of his girls, and proud of being a part of the Continental Automotive Group.

Hamburgers are Shannon’s food of choice, and his particular favorite is the cheeseburger with a fried egg on top from Red Robin. Shannon enjoys helping customers and tries to focus on being compassionate and living by the golden rule. Shannon says that he takes pride in his work in the Subaru service department because he feels like what he does makes a difference.
Clint Craven

Outside of the dance floor, he enjoys watching birds, and by birds I really mean Bald Eagles. Beautiful creature they are. He does this up in Montana; but he does NOT like mountain climbing. BUT he does enjoy mountain biking. He does this activity over at the Green Belt here in Austin. However, his Siamese cat does not like to go with him. Clint also likes to fish for alligator gar on his spare time; he loves to wrestle those bad boys. Clint likes trips to the zoo as well, but has yet been to the San Diego Zoo… maybe dear old Sean Williams should convince him to go. Who is Clint’s favorite super hero? – Spider Man!!! Why? – Because he gets the girl!! One last little fact: He owns a 2005 gray STI names Isabelle.
Randy Crist

Dave Cruz

Jason Flores
Service Technician

Hire Date 7/18/2011
Jason has never actually been in a business working on cars, he usually just worked on cars for friends and family as a hobby. He was excited and grateful when Austin Subaru offered him to job to start him off on his career. He finds the people and the atmosphere to be cool and nice. Austin and Forrest were the ones that trained him and started him off when he first stepped into the shop. He doesn’t drive any fancy car or spend money on racing or drifting though, most of his money goes toward his 2 year old son named Jayden. They love to go to the park together and play/watch sports. As a side hobby, Jason coaches a coach/pitch baseball team for his two nephews. As said by Roger Matthews, "Jason is a humble and appreciative guy."
Juan Garcia
Service Technician

Hire Date 2/12/2007 A native of El Paso, Juan enjoys the relaxed atmosphere of Austin and says that there is always something to do. Juan likes going to bars but says that he’s getting a little too old to be a Sixth Street regular. Cooking out is another of Juan’s passions, and beef fajitas are his specialty. His secret is marinating the beef in beer before putting it on the grill. When he travels back to El Paso, Juan takes his truck four-wheeling in the mud and sand dunes. On Sundays, you can find Juan cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
Steve Garza

Hire Date 6/30/2010 Steve has been a local here in Austin since college. He graduated from UT majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. His weapons of choice include a shot gun, a rifle and a hand gun. He has those toys on safety and ops for the Call of Duty game when he is enjoying his family. Family life includes a loving wife and three kids. His oldest daughter just started at UT and made the dean’s list her first go around!

Hire Date 1/21/2011
Patrick is a good guy who loves his family. He enjoys taking them to Schlitterbahn on the beach.
Sandra Guevara
Receptionist

Hire Date 8/21/2008 Sandra is the cheerful voice greeting customers who call Austin Subaru. She has worked at the dealership for a year and a half and says that the fun employees make it feel like a family. Sandra’s non-Subaru family centers around her two children and husband of over five years, Jorge. With young children, a son and a daughter to keep up with, Sandra says her hobbies now include both Chuck E Cheese and Gattitown. Sandra and Jorge also take walks around the Town Lake Trail and love to go dancing.
Bryan Hardeman
Principal

Hire Date 11/2/1978 “All-Wheel-Drive:” that should be Mr. Hardeman’s middle name due to his active lifestyle and admiration for his annual winter family vacations in Colorado. This avid outdoorsman and dog lover looks back with a chuckle on the day he acquired the Subaru brand. “We picked up the Subaru Regional fellas who had just flown in from Denver, and they could not help but laugh at the fact that nearly all of Austin had shut down due to one inch of snow on the ground.” As Southern Texans know, snow is a rarity here, but it just so happened to fall on that particular chilly day in January of 1996. Needless to say, the Subaru Regional Reps decided after this display that there was real potential and need here for the Subaru brand.
Mr. Hardeman is known around the dealership as an all-around nice guy and family man. His family includes his loving wife, Rebecca, and their three children, two of whom (Will and Genny) work at the dealerships taking on day-to-day management. Their youngest (by two and a half minutes), Joy, is attending Mr. Hardeman’s alma mater, UT, in her second year of law school. Mr. Hardeman boasts about how proud he is of the spread here at the Continental Automotive Group and how the average employee has worked for him an incredible 15+ years! “The car business is a people business, and having the right people be a part of our family here is the most important thing, and we have the right people!”
Genny, Will, and Joy Hardeman (Brother and Twin Sisters)
Executive Vice President (Genny) - Managing Partner (Will) - Visionary (Joy)

Hire Date 2/17/1984 (Genny)
Hire Date 7/18/1981 (Will)
Hire Date 2/17/1984 (Joy)
Geneva Anne Hardeman, one of the future radio voices of Austin Subaru, remembers spending winter vacations in Colorado, navigating the snowy mountain roads in her family’s Outback. Genny got her start in the Continental Automotive Group on February 17, 1984, just two and a half minutes before her sister Joy. Genny was a thespian and tennis star at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School before continuing on to SMU, where she graduated a semester early with a degree in Finance, Foreign Languages and Literature. Genny went to work for Tejas Securities in Austin but was soon recruited into the family business. Genny enjoys spending time with friends on Lake Austin and taking runs around the neighborhood with her two dogs, a Blue Lacy named Charlie and a yellow Labrador named Ellie. Ellie enjoys riding in the Subaru sport utility vehicles; her favorite is the Outback.
Will is an Austin recreationalist: an avid cyclist, triathlete, competitive skier, and outdoorsman who enjoys all the air, land, and water that Austin has to offer. These activities have made Will more in tune with local environmental issues, and in his construction and development focus at the Continental Automotive Group, Will brings with him a strong commitment to preserving Austin’s natural beauty. He is excited about the local expansion of the Subaru brand and thinks that it’s a perfect match for the people of Austin.
Will grew up in west Austin and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin.
Joy, a sought-after companion, enjoys a good crossword puzzle and late evening walks on the Lions Municipal Golf Course with her two puppies, Ellie and Charlie. As one half of the team that joined the Continental Automotive Group on February 17, 1984, Joy has 25 years of automotive industry know-how. Although currently on hiatus to attend The University of Texas School of Law, Joy enjoys receiving CAG updates from her family and co-workers. Those who miss Joy in work mode can check Facebook for the photographic chronicle “A Day in the Office- Kicking Butt and Taking Names.” In the meantime Joy will continue checking in at Austin Subaru in order to receive her yearly flu shot. Joy also knows that the Subaru Outback is Ellie’s favorite.
Christy Heenan
Inventory Control

Hire Date 5/3/2010 Meet Christy! She is just a bundle of joy and tons of fun to be around. She first worked at our First Texas Honda dealership where she met and married her sweetheart, David. Together they have 3 little girls with the ages of 8, 11, &12. Their favorite times are spent out on the lake with their Seadoo boat. They mostly enjoy tubing, skiing, and kneeboarding. The Heenan family adores dogs and will hopefully be getting another sometime in the future. Who affiliated with Subaru doesn’t like dogs??
Austin Hodnett
Service Technician

Hire Date 11/15/2010
Burnt rubber is Austin’s favorite smell, color, and taste (actually, Macaroni, shell style, is his favorite taste). Austin IS a drifter… and he has the helmet to prove his legitimacy. He has three 240SXs: The primary one (Arctic White named Keira - ‘Hellaflush for the win man’), His drifting one (primer black); and one that is a ‘sitting pile of junk’. His wishes to paint his drifting one Pearl White with a Glitter coat. He is the mentor of our very own Forrest Laxton (bio below). Surely, with Austin has his mentor, Forrest will be the best of the best… maybe even better than Austin! Drifting aside, Austin has a Siberian Husky named Kenai. AGGIE – WHOOP!
Forrest Laxton
Service Technician

Hire Date 1/27/11
Forrest (previous mentioned above in Austin’s bio) has two cars, an Impreza 2.5RS and a 1982 turbocharged 280Z that he races and attempts to drift (all in due time Forrest, all in due time). His daily driver, the impreza, is named Scooby, and his race car, the 280Z, is called snoopy (because it’s black and white). This dear mentee of Austin is excited to learn ‘the ways of drifting.’ He’s heard a lot about Austin and his reputation and is honored to be under his wing. Forrest is a true Subaru fan, he even has the tattoo on his back to prove it. And he is NOT afraid of the color pink! His dream color combination just so happens to be hot pink with black. Forrest is working toward his business degree in order to accomplish his lifelong goal of owning his own performance shop. Forrest is daring, not afraid to try new things, and is better than Austin at everything.
Lee Laxton
Parts Manager

Hire Date 3/16/2007 Lee has an amazing 24 plus years of experience in the car industry. Originally from Bellaire, Texas, Lee moved up to Austin over ten years ago and is sold on the Central Texas quality of life. He has been married to his wife Victoria for more than 20 years and describes her as “the best looking brunette in town.” Lee, Victoria, and their three children are outdoor people who enjoy floating the river during the summer months. Lee recently started golfing more often but has chosen not to include his handicap in this bio.
Garrett Liming

Often referred to as a third generation Honda employee, Garrett’s dad Kent began working at the dealership when Garrett was two years old. Garrett joined the team 20+ years later and now heads up the Service Department. In 2002, Garrett encountered an especially difficult customer and decided to marry her (“with permission from her dad and my boss”). Garrett and his wife have two young children, and enjoy traveling around the US. Baseball is one of Garret’s big interests; he plays in an amateur men’s baseball league and is already looking forward to coaching his children. Garrett also enjoys outdoor activities and Mexican food. His favorite Mexican restaurant here in Austin is Jardin Corona’s.
Levi Lohrman

He is the proud owner his new (well, new to him) Subaru Forester for which he signed the papers for the morning of his interview here. We're not saying that's the reason he was hired, but it definitely didn't hurt his chances. Levi is now the master of all things IT for Austin Subaru, so if you have any computer-related problems, feel free to ask. Oh and don't steal anything from Levi's office... It is frowned upon.
