I had an unexpectedly smooth and pleasant experience as an out-of-state buyer of a used Forester. My salesperson, Ayron, really made the experience a good one. I thought I would never do anything as crazy as buying a used car sight unseen from across the country, but Ayron took all the stress and worry away. Just leased a 2026 Outback Wilderness, and the redesign is really something special — a huge improvement over previous models. This is my first Subaru, and I had heard great things about both the vehicle and Austin Subaru. I’m happy to say the experience exceeded expectations. Honestly, this was the best dealership experience I’ve ever had. After years of buying cars for myself and my kids, I usually dread the dealership process, but this felt completely different. The environment was relaxed, the staff was friendly and transparent, and at no point did I feel pressured or stressed. Shout out to Ryan for all he did. There was a slightly longer wait than expected, and they went out of their way to apologize and even included a couple of extra perks, which was a really nice touch. The service waiting area is also incredible — it honestly feels more like a real coffee shop than a dealership lounge. You can tell they genuinely take pride in their dealership and in Subaru’s Love Promise. Overall, it was just a great experience, and I’d absolutely recommend Austin Subaru to anyone considering a Subaru.

Initially, communication seemed promising, but the process quickly became frustrating due to repeated lack of follow-through and poor communication. I was told multiple times that certain steps would be completed “first thing in the morning,” including reviewing my credit application and sending a payment link for the deposit. Neither happened until I had to repeatedly follow up myself. As someone who works in sales, I understand things get busy, but keeping your word and proactively communicating with customers is the bare minimum. What made the experience worse was being told by their Sales Manager they had “30 appointments” and that was why things were delayed. Instead of making me feel valued as a customer, it felt like my business was an inconvenience. I also had to chase them down for updates rather than the dealership staying engaged with me throughout the process. Mind you I was ready to move forward, credit application submitted and approved, sent Drivers License and proof of insurance. Meanwhile, another dealership was responsive, transparent, and actually worked to earn my business. They provided a significantly better offer and consistently followed up professionally. Austin Subaru ultimately admitted they could not match the deal. The sales manager even got involved, don’t ever think they would try to make things right if they really wanted my business. They didn’t. They even said to go elsewhere. If you are shopping for a Subaru in Austin, I strongly recommend checking multiple dealerships before committing.

I bought a car from them a couple years ago, and overall pretty good buying experience. Service department is also pretty good. However...and the reason for 3 star rating...they constantly send me marketing emails and no matter how many times I unsubscribe, they keep coming! They do not respect the unsubscribe.

I especially like the express service for oil change plus. It works for my schedule and they do a really great job with the complete inspection service that comes along with it. I was having some AC issues in my Forester for several months and decided I should not push off repairs any longer with how quickly summer is approaching. I was dreading the repair cost but I had liked the friendly and quick service I had received for a parts recall a while back and knew my car would be in good hands. Chris Sutton was great at keeping me updated about the status of repairs and my payment options and Dustin Peterke did a great job explaining what needed to be done to resolve the AC issue in the multi point inspection video in addition to other recommended maintenance. I'm not the kind of person to go to a car dealership and just feel at ease. It's an entirely different atmosphere that I'm not accustomed to and often translates to a lack of comfort in those spaces. My experience at Subaru Austin was completely different from that expectation. It helped that they've been recommended to my by many of my friends and even my therapist (I don't know higher praise)! The staff and amenities at Subaru Austin were comforting, welcoming, and open-minded, allowing me to feel comfortable and safe when exploring options to make a large purchase. When I heard they had a coffee shop, I expected like a little nook with a drip coffee pot and maybe some powder creamer. I was shocked to see a fully functioning coffee shop with all the options, syrups, alternative milks, and cold brew you could ask for. When it came to staff, Mia was so extremely helpful and kind when I went to Subaru Austin. She was able to balance her role with humanity and humor and provided me with an easy, stress-free experience in buying a vehicle. I knew the options that I had and she ensured that I got the best deal possible. I also was extremely appreciative of her professionalism. Unbeknownst to me, the day of my visit to Subaru Austin was also Mia's birthday. She didn't use this as some ploy to get me to buy a car and there were absolutely no lousy tactics to try and upsell anything. Mia waited until after my purchase had concluded to tell me about her birthday which was so genuine and kind and assured me that I was making the right decision. I also got great help from Taylor in finance, helping me balance options to get the best deal and Shelby from the design department was so cool and genuine and excited to help me with additional features! Subaru really knows how to treat their customers well. The service waiting area has a complementary bar to get coffee and snacks which I have never seen at a dealership. Matthew Boehm was incredibly helpful and made my experience fantastic.

I popped in for help on my 2 Subarus with my trusted Service Rep Saul (always amazing service!) and stopped by parts again help on the work I can do myself. Bezell helped me for like the 10th time over the past few years. Took his time, on a deep dive search for a part that unfortunately was not sold separately. While the end result was bad for me the customer service was perfection! These folks do it right, the first time and everytime for me!

I arrived to Austin Subaru, cranky and with no expectations to purchase a vehicle. I had just left a previous dealership where I planned on making a purchase of a specific car. When I arrived at this previous dealership they treated me like a "girl". They increased the original price, and then added "accessories" that should have been part of the purchase price of the car and wouldn't allow me to remove them. Anytime I asked questions about the vehicle, the sales person would have to leave to go get that information. I left very unsatisfied and carless. After a quick Google search looking for another vehicle. I arrived at Austin Subaru, where I was met by John Martinez. He gave me a complete and comprehensive run down on the car. On the test drive he gave me information and specific details about the car. There was no moving numbers on the paper and they gave me add- ons and options that I was able to decline or accept. The vehicle needed some body work, so John put me in a BRAND NEW loaner, for the duration of the repairs needed for my car. The vehicle I purchased was used, and i was absolutely not a big spending customer, but the whole building treated me like I was. My toddler didn't make the process easy either, but everyone was so gracious and truly stood for a dealership that is family owned. I haven't even got the car I purchased yet and already am a completely loyal and impressed customer. Purchasing a vehicle that is going to be around for a long time can be a intimidating process, but Austin Subaru made that whole process a no-brainer to do it with them.

I came in today to look at a car with the intent on buying. I was able to get agreements and great deals, and am very satisfied with it at the end of our deal. Big kudos to salesman Alex and financing dept's Jett for their clear thorough back and forth communication. They're not afraid to clarify things so we were always on the same page. Would recommend this place to other buyers!

Anthony Raglin was phenomenal to work with! I came in on a Saturday afternoon, knowing which car I was interested in. The customer service and customer amenities are excellent at Austin Subaru. The wait time is reasonable and alternate transportation options are readily available if you can’t wait. While it is thoroughly covered by warranty, I do have an issue with the 2024 Forester’s spark plug tube seals leaking at 18,000 miles. I have reported this to Subaru of America as a manufacturer defect.

This was the first Subaru we’ve ever bought, and Austin Subaru made a very good impression. Michael H. was flexible, laid back, and helpful. He made it easy to ask questions, and at no point did we feel pressured. He was attentive without hovering, which we appreciated. What stood out to us was that even though we were buying used, we never got any kind of “used car sales” treatment. We told them what price range we were comfortable with, and they never tried to steer us into something more expensive. We got the same level of care you would hope for when buying brand new. Michael’s response told us a lot: “Of course, we’ll take care of that.” He got that for us in writing and also arranged a loaner for the days the car will be in the body shop, which showed real follow-through. We came in with an excellent rate from our own credit union, but because it was Saturday and they were closing early, we were concerned we might have to continue everything on Monday. Levi D., the finance manager, stepped in and, through Austin Subaru’s lending network, beat that rate through another Texas credit union they work with. We appreciated that our loan still went through a member-owned institution and that we were able to get everything done that same morning. We were honestly surprised by how easy the whole process was. We had basically cleared our Saturday and braced for an all-day dealership experience, and it was nothing like that. No tactics, no pressure, no one trying to pull wool over our eyes, just friendly, straightforward service. If you’re looking for a Subaru, go to Austin Subaru and ask for Michael H.

This has been the best car buying experience ever for my husband and I, and we have owned several cars in our lifetime. From the moment we walked in Nick Jauregui was very informative and patient with us. My husband and I were not in agreement as far as which car to buy and Nick took the time to show us everything we asked for. Never made us feel rushed or a burden. They have a coffee shop and snacks while you wait all complimentary which is an added bonus. Then came finance with Jett Minor. Seriously the best experience! He made us feel at ease and explained everything in extreme detail. I already felt good about buying a Subaru and these two gentlemen made me feel great about the car, the financing, the warranty.. everything! I highly recommend looking into a Subaru at Austin Subaru. You will not be disappointed. First time Subaru buyer.

Excellent service! The complimentary coffee bar is awesome! The multi point check video is very informative and also free. All staff is helpful and friendly.

I'm retracting a bad review because it was the actions of one person, and the general manager and saleswoman called today called and agreed to fix the issue to my satisfaction. If they make it right by me then there's no reason for it it blow back on them. Mia, who helped me with the sale, was nice and did nothing wrong, and the GM was courteous and professional. I'll update again once the solution to the problem is finalized.

I was sold an fraudulent warranty by their finance manager Taylor Tice, who lied so brazenly about the coverage I'm not sure if it's even just civil. He explicitly told me their "Foxtrot" 100k mile package included clutch replacement, when in fact it specifically exuded it, along with a catch-all clause that lets them refuse any claim by just saying you drove your car too hard. Then he told me their "dent and ding" covered unlimited windshield replacement, when in fact it covered only one minor repair with a lifetime cap of $100 Admittedly I shouldn't have signed when he just drew a confusing spaghetti bowl of pricing on a sheet of paper with a sharpie and somehow misplaced the actual text of the agreement, but honestly I didn't think even a car salesman would lie that brazenly and specifically in a contractual agreement he was selling. That's on me for understating how reckless some people will be to make a few hundred bucks off a sale though. But all they were willing to do was refund the misrepresented warranty products and apply that to the principle while still keeping my payments $200/month higher. He stonewalled and smugly told me he was the finance manager and "the loan is done" so now I'm stuck escalating to Chase finance, filling a CFPB complaint (260322-30317890) and starting the process for a claim under TDTPA 17.46 to get it fixed. I ever have to print something on paper and wait in line at the post office now. The experience would have been great is Mr Tice just told the truth, or at least agreed to a satisfactory resolution after getting caught, but now i have several unwanted chores on my plate because of it. They'll sell you the car at invoice and overvalue your trade-in BTW, just don't buy the worthless 3rd party warranties they tack on to try to recover. Be extra careful because he'll hand you an invoice with them already added on without even telling you if you don't look close. Also they'll try to sneak an extra point on their advertising interested rate at closing so double check that as well. The girl who sold me the car was nice enough though.

I really appreciate the videos shared. I love the convenience of being able to uber home and back, as well as receiving updates via Austin Subaru’s text communication. I purchased my 2023 WRX Limited from Austin Subaru under circumstances that were… unique: I was actively deployed to the Middle East when I started the process. From thousands of miles away, the entire experience was smooth, professional, and genuinely stress-free. Communication was fast and clear throughout, which matters enormously when you’re coordinating across time zones from a deployment. By the time I got home to Texas, everything was ready to go. The transaction itself was one of the easiest vehicle purchases I’ve had, no pressure, no surprises, just straightforward and honest dealing. The staff all welcomed me warmly. Beyond the service, I walked away confident I got genuine value for my money and a car I’m happy with at a price that was fair.
